Assist activity coordinator with planned activities.  Visit with participants.  Assist with serving meals.  Escort participants on walks.

Brown bag program to qualified seniors.  Product distributed twice a month.

Work with seniors at one or two of our twenty brown bag sites on a weekly basis.

Work directly with the Volunteer Coordinator to aid with administrative work.

Services Offered:

Maple Senior Multi-Service Center serves the Fullerton area for low-income residents and seniors.  We offer information and referral, translation, Immigration Assistance, and monthly commodity distribution.  Outreach services available for seniors include: escort to essential medical appointments, lunch, and activities.  Our After School Program, geared for school-aged children consists of tutoring, games, and arts and crafts.

Services Offered:

Offer supportive counseling for older adults, including bereavement, general adjustments to life changes.  We run support groups for loss of parent, widow/widowers, adult children of aging parents, general grief.  Also, arthritis group, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer support groups.  Groups at Senior Center as well as adult day-care centers.

 

Long-term Volunteer Opportunities:

We offer a PACE Program, which requires ten hours of training.  After this, volunteers have one to two clients they follow for a twelve week period.
