Provide tutoring assistance in reading.

Provide tutoring in reading, math, and/or computers.  Child care.

Elective high school classes in prenatal care, parenting, and marriage and family.

Services Offered:

Provide pregnancy testing, counseling regarding options (do not refer for abortion), professional long-term counseling, individual or family medical referrals, assistance in applying for Medi-Cal or AIM, maternity and baby clothing, and post-abortion counseling.

 

Short-term Volunteer Opportunities:

Act as intake crisis resolution counselor (four hour per week minimum time commitment).  Help with general office work—filing and typing (flexible time commitment).  Collect and process baby and maternity items.

 

Long-term Volunteer Opportunities:

All of the above and act as crisis counselor and/or do phone intake.

Services Offered:

Provide gynecological care, cancer screening, contraceptive care, prenatal program, sterilization, referrals for treatment of cervical cancer and related disorders, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STI’s), HIV/AIDS services, pregnancy testing, and male services (birth control, cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment of STI’s). 

Short-term Volunteer Opportunities:

Help with clerical work.

 

Long-term Volunteer Opportunities:

Help with front and back office duties, including shadowing medical staff during counseling and education sessions.

Students may shadow medical staff during counseling and education sessions.

Monthly Volunteer Orientations are held at our administrative office; call or the next upcoming presentation. One-on-one interviews can be scheduled with the Volunteer Coordinator.l

For pregnant and parenting teenagers, we provide child care pre- and post-natal parenting, and enable continuation of high school education.

As space permits.  Please check with Director of Child Care first.  Letter explaining assignment on school stationary required.
