Services Offered:

Public library.  Due to reduced funds, we are open only two days a week on Tuesday from noon to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 

Short-term Volunteer Opportunities:

Shelve books and periodicals.  Show patrons how to use the computer catalogue.  Shelf read.

 

Long-term Volunteer Opportunities:

Same as above.  Depending on individual and need, student could process in materials.

 

Opportunities to Observe at Organization:

Students could observe an orientation tour.  If a student is considering a career in library science, then a fuller orientation could be arranged.

 

Opportunities for On-site Informational Interview:

Same as above.  Mr. Tait would be available to any student who is interested in learning more about how the library operates with financial cutbacks, etc.

 

Class Speakers:

Mr. Tait would be happy to speak to a class or group of individuals thinking of majoring in library science.
