Opportunities to Observe at Organization:

Students are welcome to observe Orange County Board of Supervisors weekly Board Meetings on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m.; the last Tuesday of every month the meeting is at 7:00 p.m.

 

Opportunities for On-site Informational Interview:

Contact Steve Franks.  Any staff member would be willing and able to discuss many issues relating to the County.

Services Offered:

Our office conducts Republican voter registration and “Get Out the Vote” activities.  A Speakers Bureau is available upon request.

 

Short-term Volunteer Opportunities:

Assist with Headquarters work such as mailings, office assistance, answering phones, etc.  Help with current registration, Get Out the Vote, or campaign drives.

 

Long-term Volunteer Opportunities:

Same as above as well as temporary election headquarters assistance, volunteer recruitment and assistance with special events.

Services Offered:

Resource room with materials available regarding UNICEF, other UN agencies, and about the United Nations, itself. Also have information about issues before the UN. We also have a  gift shop with gifts from around the world. 

 

 

Long-term Volunteer Opportunities:

A semester intern could help in the shop, could help in the resource room organizing material, could help with our outreach program to elementary, junior and senior high schools.

 

Opportunities to Observe at Organization:

Students are welcome to visit our center at any time.  Students and teachers are usually very interested in our resource room as well as the stories behind some of our more unusual gifts.  We are open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday or by appointment.

 

Opportunities for On-site Informational Interview:

Several Board members are available for this purpose. We consider educating students about the UN and its agencies an important role for the chapter. Please call (714) 542-9743 to set up an appointment.

Suzanne Darweesh at (714) 738-1785 can speak about women’s issues, UNIFEM, UNICEF, or other topics. John Osborn, former UNA Southern California Division President can speak on the UN and Model UN.
