Except for working in waiting room,
all long-term options require five to ten hours per week for one year. Several of CGC’s programs are partially
staffed by volunteer interns on a continual basis. These programs include a series of
therapy groups designed to develop greater self-esteem and self-control and to
develop more positive, effective social interaction skills.

Psychosocial rehabilitation services
to adults with mental illness. Provide support and assistance with housing, employment, socialization
and daily living skills to adults with mental illness who are trying to
integrate into the community. By
building on strengths and teaching basic living skills, we provide the
psychiatrically disabled with a foundation for long-term recovery.

Agency prefers two-semester
commitment, though one-semester commitment is accepted for some programs. In most cases, weekly time commitment is
negotiable. Varied volunteer
programs available. Students can
help with recreational activities as a club house assistant; facilitate
pscyhosocial rehabilitation groups as a Club House Rehab Group Leader; assist
homeless adults suffering from mental illness as a Homeless Program Assistant;
provide support and follow-up to high functioning psychiatrically disabled
adults who are in semi-independent transitional living enviroments as a Housing
Assistant Program; ensure that involuntarily detained mentally ill patients have
the opportunity to express their own views regarding hospitalization as a
Hearing advocate; offer structure and support in weekly club meetings as a Room
and Boards facilities as a Room & Board Review Committee Membe, and as an
Outreach Program Volunteer you will go out into the community and help
psychiatrically disabled adults obtain services. Each program has different
