Services Offered:

Anaheim Therapeutic Recreation Center provides services to persons having developmental disabilities.  We provide neighborhood programs to work with at-risk youth to direct them towards positive recreational activities; we also supervise activities at neighborhood playgrounds.  We sponsor the Oak Canyon Nature Center.

Cultural Arts, such as public art, concerts in the park, Brea’s Gallery.  Leisure Services, such as adult excursions and sports leagues, park and ball field, summer day camp, and recreation classes.  Human Services, such as Brea Senior Center, the Job Center, and Volunteens.  Special Events, such as Holiday Tree Lighting and July 4th Country Fair. 

 

Short-term Volunteer Opportunities:

Work as theater usher and gallery helper.  Assist with special events.  Some seasonal work available with Human Services Division.

 

Long-term Volunteer Opportunities:

Assist with tiny tots, Senior Center, Day Camp, and clerical work.

Services Offered:

Assistance given to needy Brea residents throughout the year in the form of rent, food, and clothing.  Also, coordinate the Community Christmas Basket Program.  Families receive a week’s worth of food and grocery voucher.  Children are given toys.

Students are welcome to visit the city or actual Christmas Basket Distribution site in December.

Assist with client intake and child care when parents attend a workshop.  Help with organizing an event.

Assist with community events planning, client intake.  Organize employment job board; assist with seeking donations of canned food items.
