Services Offered:

Birth parent counseling, adoptive parent services, foster care, search and reunion, special needs program with community outreach and education, family counseling.

 

Short-term Volunteer Opportunities:

Help in orientations or workshops for adoptive parents.  Work in Development Department (organizing, writing thank-yous, designing direct mail requests, planning special events).  Computer data input work.  Prepare displays or art work for presentations.

 

Long-term Volunteer Opportunities:

All short-term activities plus grant writing. 

 

Opportunities to Observe at Organization:

Limited due to confidentiality issues, but students may attend the adoptive parent orientations or workshops.

 

Opportunities for On-site Informational Interview:

Please call to arrange.  Depends on finding a client who would be open to this.  Many adoptive and birth parents would agree to an interview, especially a phone interview.

 

Class Speakers:

Have a “Speakers Bureau” made up of many volunteers who do outreach education in the community.  Call Sara Dickerson, Development Director of Holy Family Services, at (818) 432-5686 if interested.
