What is the A.S.CareBank?

CareBank is a service providing help to Fullerton College students with short-term emergency aid.

 

What services are offered by the CareBank?

CareBank offers Fullerton College students food and/or a bus pass for transportation to and from school, as well as referral assistance.

 

Does CareBank give away money or make loans to students?

No, but CareBank acts as a referral center, referring students to agencies on and off campus.

 

What qualifications  must a  needy  student meet in  order  to  receive  assistance from CareBank?

The only requirement is that the requestor be currently enrolled as a student at Fullerton College with no less than five units for that semester.

 

Can a student be denied CareBank services?

CareBank is dependent on donations and funds are limited. When resources are not available, the CareBank Coordinator will refer you to other assisting organizations.

 

Can a student return to the CareBank for aid if needed?

CareBank funding is limited and is designed to help students help themselves.  CareBank is only able to help a needy student once per semester.  Students may also be referred to outside agencies for assistance.

 

Are requests confidential?

Yes!  Interviews with the CareBank Coordinator will be kept strictly confidential.

A.S. CareBank Funding

How is the CareBank Funded?

CareBank is totally funded with donations.

 

How much of each donation is used for administrative costs?

100% of each donation is applied directly to Fullerton College students in need.  All CareBank workers are volunteers.  Any other costs of CareBank are paid by the Associated Students.

 

What type of donations do you accept?

CareBank accepts cash donations to purchase food certificates and bus passes.  NOCCCD payroll deductions are also accepted.

 

Are donations to CareBank tax deductible?

All donations are tax deductible.  Cancelled checks serve as the receipt.
