Did you know that there are engineering clubs for students? The largest are: Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) for electrical engineering students American
Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) for
mechanical engineering American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for civil engineering students American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE) for chemical engineering students IEEE Computer Society for computer engineering students Engineering companies expect engineering students to be involved in engineering clubs. When you transfer you will find these and other active engineering clubs. SOFE is here at FC to give you a head start on learning that there is more to being an engineering student than just going to classes. If you really want to be a successful engineer, there is much more to learn than what you learn in the classroom. Did you know that participating in an engineering club could help you obtain an engineering-related job? Most engineering companies who hire students expect these students to be involved in an engineering student club. Who do you think will have the edge in an interview, the student who is not involved or the student who is? You get to meet engineers now by being actively involved in
SOFE. If you invited an engineer to come and speak
at a SOFE meeting, that engineer would know you,
know your name and might contact you for a part-time job. That is how the world
works, isn’t it? How to join SOFE? Send an email to sofe@fclistserver.fullcoll.edu or call: Syed Anvery (President) at 714-402-5073 Candice Kou (Secretary and Future President) at 626-905-4690 Mareike Claassen at (714) 992-7208 or Milton Randle at (714) 992-7132 Web page designed by Shin Kadota
